Baby Bling

Finally broke down and purchased some flowers to work with. I wasn't happy with the ones that I had ordered with samples. So I've been kind of nervous about finding quality flowers. I've decided to reconstruct my own flowers and am pleased with the results.

Baby Girl is blinged!

Tulip Tutu - Baby Girl's First Tutu!

Tulip Tutu - 20" 0-12 months
Baby Girl was happy to try out her new tutu this morning - Big Brother was elated to model as well! Seriously cute and seriously FLUFFY! As I was making this last night, I thought maybe it wouldn't be quite as fluffy as I wanted it to be, but all done and on Baby Girl...it is fluffed to the max.

The colors in this tutu remind me of spring tulips. Growing up in Germany (military brat), my parents traveled with us every chance they got. The first time we went to the Netherlands it was spring time. I remember picking out a pair of wooden clogs and going to look at all the tulips & windmills. Entire gardens of tulips!

Tutu Tulling

Tonight I made a tutu for Baby Girl's 1 year photoshoot - scheduled for next week. There are a few modifications I'd like to make for the next tutu, but this turned out just darling. I can't wait to try it on her tomorrow! She was sleeping soundly when I got done, so I took pictures of without a model and then humiliated one of our Boston Terriers for a few snaps.

I'm thinking the next tutu will be entirely pink or maybe a lemon-lime combo. What color will your tutu be?

Where's My Red, Mommy?

I'm working on sewing roses on tonight. These headbands are so soft and they allow me to hide the stitching. I've been eyeing up silk flowers in the stores because I haven't been happy with the flower samples I ordered. The giant mums are rather flat and have fallen apart, so I'm looking for something better. Thinking I will have to take flowers apart and sew them together - it could be fun and render some fun creations.

Saturday we enjoyed some beautiful weather (Mother's Day was gorgeous as well) so Baby Girl and I played in the grass while Big Brother took his nap and Daddy worked in the yard. Realized that she has no red accessories. Will have to remedy that.

Don't forget to tag yourself in the Orange Dragonfly to win a free headband!

Baby Leg Makin'

Mailman came yesterday...and actually delivered a package to my DOOR! He even knocked and stayed there with the package until I answered. I'm impressed. But even more impressing are these funky socks. Shipping was super fast, good quality, and ....look at how funky they are!

These stripes aren't going to stay socks for long. I'm thinking chubby legs, baby butt to ankles (or over the heels as well, if you like).

Pair them with a sassy onesie, clothe diapers...my favorite is under a fluffy skirt. (Tutus are on Baby Girl's horizon!) What do you think? Should I make them plain or add some ruffles / eyelet lace on the ends?
